Details: The wood is solid and the piece is structurally sound. The barn-red paint shows minor, authentic scuffs and wear (particularly on the inside bottom), which only adds to its primitive appeal. The unpainted wooden back shows some splintering around the hanging hole and features a handwritten number ("GL40211"), possibly an old maker's mark or previous antique dealer's inventory code.
