Pro-Tip: Conditioning for Success
The most common mistake new users make is skipping the "seasoning" process. To prevent your medium from beading up, we recommend lightly scuffing the surface of your new stamps with a fine-grit sanding block. This creates the perfect "tooth" for IOD Decor Ink or chalk paint to grab onto, ensuring a clean transfer every time.
Choosing Your Application Tool: Brayer vs. Pad
For the sharpest detail—especially on typography or fine line-work—we recommend using a stamp pad with IOD Decor Ink. If you prefer a more "block-printed" or distressed look, use a brayer to apply a thin, even layer of chalk-style paint.
Mastering Curved Surfaces
One of the greatest features of IOD stamps is their flexibility. While a thin mount with grid lines is perfect for flat signs and tabletop designs, you can also use "freestyle" stamping (using the stamp without a mount) to wrap designs around curved furniture legs, tapered flowerpots, or even fabric pillows.
