Add a touch of warm, retro charm to your dresser or vanity with this handsome vintage wooden jewelry and valet box. Stamped on the green felt base with the inspection date "46.7.27", this piece was manufactured in Japan on July 27, 1971, which corresponds to the 46th year of the historic Shōwa era.
The exterior features a beautifully routed, ribbed "tambour" style lid accented by an ornate, brass-toned filigree center emblem and a matching metal drawer pull. Opening the lid reveals a vibrant, plush red velvet interior equipped with a central ring roll section and seven open compartments—perfect for organizing rings, cufflinks, earrings, and small watches. It is a fantastic, highly functional piece of 1970s organization for vintage lovers.
Condition
Grade: Good Vintage Condition / As-Is Mirror
Details: The wooden exterior is solid and displays only minor, standard surface wear consistent with its 1971 vintage age. The interior red velvet is clean, bright, and firmly attached. Please note: The mirror set into the inner lid has heavily "desilvered" over time (the reflective backing is peeling and mottled), giving it a ghostly, antique appearance. The box remains structurally sound and fully functional despite the aged mirror.
