This vintage Pflueger "Taxie" fly fishing reel features a highly sought-after "skeleton" style design, utilizing a heavily ventilated, open spool to allow silk or braided fishing line to dry quickly. Stamped clearly with the iconic Pflueger Bulldog trademark and "Made in U.S.A.", it boasts dual wooden/bakelite handle knobs and is currently spooled with a vibrant, retro-looking aqua blue line. It is a brilliant addition to a vintage tackle collection or a great authentic prop for rustic cabin and lodge decor.

Details: The metal frame and spool are structurally solid. The reel shows a natural, unpolished patina with some surface oxidation, tarnish, and scratches typical of decades of field use. Both handle knobs are firmly attached, and the spool appears to turn.
