This very large wooden bowl was made from lathe-turned old growth maple in Michigan during the 1940s. It was hand painted with a beautiful apple motif by women working in the Munising factory. This is their classic salad or bread bowl, with 3 maple peg feet that retain traces of their original red paint. There is some wear to the varnish over three of the apples. Marked Munising in the style used from the late 1930s to early 1950s.
