This wonderful Swedish folk art carving of a shoemaker holding a shoe and a hammer is a fine example of flat-plane woodcarving. The cobbler is sitting on a three-legged stool with an enigmatic side-eye expression. The piece is entirely hand carved and hand painted in the style of the famous Swedish carvers of the 1950s to 1980s. Stamped Sweden on the base. Light wear to the blue paint on some edges and on the cobbler’s back.
