This beautiful Venetian half mask is in the Colombina style. It features a cream-and-gold color scheme and is adorned with creamy white and beige ostrich feathers. The papier-mache portion of the mask has been molded and contoured to fit the forehead and nose comfortably and has large openings for the eyes. It is handpainted with shimmering iridescent glitter in elaborate scrolling patterns. The entire mask has been framed with metallic gold and white braid trim, and the tops of the eye openings are adorned with a row of translucent beading. This mask is stamped HAND PAINTED in ITALY for PIER 1 IMPORTS and is signed in script by the artist - Monica 2015. It also has a red wax seal stamped with the name of the studio, MASCHERA DEL GALEONE. This wax seal holds ribbons of red, green, and white to represent the Italian tricolor flag. The original black grosgrain ribbon is intact, allowing it to be fit perfectly to any size head. Perfect for Halloween costumes, Mardi Gras, masquerade balls, or themed parties, it adds a touch of elegance and mystery to any outfit.
Measures 10 inches across, 3-3/4 inches tall, with a 12 inch feather plume.
