The interior features a stunning, intricately painted central peony (or chrysanthemum) surrounded by traditional scrolling arabesque vines—a classic Japanese motif known as karakusa, symbolizing prosperity and eternity.

The bowl boasts a delicately scalloped "pie crust" edge finished with a traditional brown iron-oxide rim, adding a lovely warm contrast to the crisp blue and white palette. The underside features a high foot ring and a hand-painted blue kanji maker's mark. Details: The porcelain is in superb shape with no visible chips, cracks, or crazing. The blue underglaze painting is crisp and vibrant, and the clear top glaze is smooth and highly reflective. There is only very faint, expected shelf wear on the unglazed bottom foot ring.
